Why Skipping Breakfast is Plain Stupid!
You are obsessed with how you look. You are obsessed with how many calories you consume. You are even obsessed with the idea of skipping meals. Am I right?
Well, so was I for the longest tie, but what if I told you that in all its irony, this is why you are overweight and unhappy and low on energy?
When you obsess over what you eat, your mind goes into the scarcity state of paranoia:
Oh my God! I can’t eat breakfast tomorrow. I better get whatever I can now at midnight! I am STARVING!
Okay maybe I am exaggerating a wee bit but not that much. See, your mind and body is interconnected, and when you increase your stress levels by counting every calorie and by skipping meals, you create the reverse reaction which you desire: Instead of getting lean and healthy, you actually gain weight!
Because your body releases these hormones during times of stress, and as a result, it alerts you to replenish your food supply in distress and eat when you are not hungry … in order to prepare for the ‘skipping breakfast’ plan you have in mind for the following morning.
Not good. Skipping meals especially breakfast is just stupid. Breakfast does not have to be the “biggest” meal of the day. No meal needs to be the ‘biggest’ meal. Eat small frequent healthy delicious meals but eat.
Or drink in the case of healthy green smoothies. Here are two so-delicious-you-will-lick-your-fingers recipes for an easy quick and nutritious breakfast. You need a little planning in advance and then you are all set.
